And, space we got! Lots of great jams and lots of space...
We were in the 12th row center, so the sound was quite intense
there - it was great to be so close to see them playing
without binoculars. They were really into it Tuesday night,
they were there to play!
Highlights for me:
sweet, sweet They Love Eachother
the crowd was stunned by Maggie's into Cumberland Blues! with
Bobby on acoustic (which could be heard just fine down front)...
Bobby was easy to pick out in the mix all night long...lots of
GREAT feedbacky sounds from him - I could turn to the speaker directly
overhead (covered with a beautiful multicolored gauze-like
kite-shaped cloth) and just feel it
China->Rider was SUPERB!
Corrina has great vocals and lots of room for jamming ...
I love it... shake shake!
jam -into- drums and jam -out of- space...drums had an eerie
"horror movie" kind of feel...I was pretty much directly below
the speaker aimed at the floor...to feel the drums and the
beam coming into my body so intensely...ahhhhhhhhhhhhh
space was really "in a groove" - they were making some great
improvisational music...lots of jamming all night long, actually
Very nice Watchtower - the 2nd Dylan song of the night!
2 intense Jerry ballads Tuesday night - So Many Roads in the
1st set and Standing on the Moon in the 2nd. Jerry's singing
was really quite emotional, intensely emotional...Vince really
gets into it too
Johnny B. Goode encore! Yow! Dancing out into the streets of
Boston! Fun fun night in the sweat pit!

after Highgate, I hungered for space...that's all I could say
about going into Tuesday night's show - I NEED SPACE!
