Tuesday night we could see great but the sound sucked...Wednesday,
we could hear great but couldn't see the band behind the speaker
stacks...last night we had it all - we were directly back and center -
got the full effect of the light show and the sound system was set
up just perfectly for us - got to hear everyone just perfectly...
I loved last night's show - do they -always- play this good?!?
I thought after Wednesday, they had done it all...nope. Last night
was pretty close ;-)
I heard a couple of songs for the first time last night - Easy
Answers, another Bobby tune with a bluesy beat - and...
LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS!!!!!!!!!!! I have been waiting all
my life to hear them do that song! as they say in the song -
Here Comes Sunshine was a great opener - let me know they were
"on" again for the show.
Bobby strapped on the acoustic for El Paso - very nice rendition.
The highlight of Candyman, for me, was when BobbyJerryVince hummed
a verse at the end - you had to hear it - just beautiful.
Broken Arrow - the first of TWO Phil songs :-P - the backup
vocals were great! Their singing, for the most part, was right on
last night. Goose bumps!
I thought ending the set with Don't Ease was actually quite fun.
Long long break between sets.
LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS - YOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!
They couldn't wait for the encore - they had to do it for us right
away! I loved the space they took us to in that one.
The light show from where we were sitting was soooooo good.
Lots of dots of light throughout the arena during the real psychedelic
parts of the song. Sets of lights spinning around the crowd.
I really had a good seat for drums - I could lean straight out over
the railing in front of me and absorb the vibrations as they came
around and around. I -love- that feeling - between feeling the
drums in person and hearing Jerry's guitar fill the entire garden -
that's the stuff that rejuvenates me until the next tour - it feels
so good - I mean, I have this smile on my face this morning (after
3 nights of 5 hours of sleep), I have this smile that is going to
stay with me for -at least- a week, the music I just heard will be
going thru my head for awhile, yes.
Space was very interesting last night - they were playing so together
that I kept trying to figure out what song they were playing.
My favorite song - The Other One - they built up and they built up
until we were about to explode from the anticipation until Phil -did-
explode and vroooooom off into space yet again! The highlight of the
night for me - besides LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS that is ;-)
Wharf Rat brought me back down to earth momentarily - a very nice jam
by Jerry in there.
NFA - good old rock'n'roll - the crowd clapped until the band returned to
stage and then some. don't really care that it's been done before
(many times!) - it really does seem personal between the crowd and the
band and a heartfelt appreciation for the great evening.
Whoa, and speaking of heartfelt appreciation - whoa, wasn't that encore
just spine tingling?!? Brokedown Palace does seem like the perfect
anthem for Boston Garden, doesn't it. Fare you well my honey, fare you
well my only true one...fare you well fare you well I love you more than
words can tell...nice nice ending to the Boston Garden run.
Debess
"ahhhhhhhhh ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"!
